In the land of Lord Manjunatha, the presiding deity of Dharmasthala temple, JD(S) State President H D Kumaraswamy commenced his party’s public campaign to fight against the State government by informing people about the misdeeds carried out by the ruling BJP government.

In the first public programme to mark the campaign against the ruling government held in the premises of Sri Janardhana temple in Ujire on Monday, the former Chief Minister asserted that the allegations he has made against Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa are cent per cent true.

“I have no intentions to lie. The day the Chief Minister published advertisement in the newspapers with the official seal, challenging me to face the truth test, was the day when his count down began. The God will look after the CM for all the lies he has told. I am deeply hurt for bringing politics to the God’s place, but if at all, I had decided not to face the challenge, then the people would have criticised me as an escapist,” he said, adding that he would provide the documents to prove his words in case of necessity.

Taking a dig at the Chief Minister, Kumaraswamy said the CM has been always complaining against the opposition parties for hindering the developmental works taken up by the BJP government. But I would like to ask the CM, who has actually blocked his path? Is it the opposition party members or the colleagues of the CM? Yeddyurappa is facing problem within his own party, then why simply blame the opposition, he questioned.

He said the real political battle has commenced now and with all the faults committed by the CM, it would be impossible for him to escape from the hands of the law.

“Yeddyurappa has on several occasions alleged our family members for involving in misdeeds. I would hereby challenge the Chief Minister to take up investigation and find out the truth. The JD(S) would organise campaigns in all the 224 constituencies in the days to come,” he said.

Meanwhile, he requested the people of coastal districts to check out the contributions of the State government to this part of the State. Despite Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada being the power centres of the BJP, the government has not returned anything to the people of this region for the support they have extended, he said.

He also said the JD(S) will lay out guidelines for the people’s representatives from his party to curb the corruption.

MLA Cheuvarayaswamy, MLA Sunil Hegde, former MLA Dharme Gowda, MLC Puttanna and others were present.
