Advanced Diploma in Metallurgy and Material Science

Aarupadai Veedu Institute of Technology (AVIT), one of the group colleges of Vinayaka Missions University (VMU), has launched a collaborative programme  — the one-year Advanced Diploma in Metallurgy and Material Science — in collaboration with the Madras Metallurgical Society.

The advantage of this programme lies in its industrial collaboration. The course is designed and developed by the faculty of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, AVIT, in close association with a highly experienced group of experts from the educational and metallurgical fields.

The programme covers a wide range of areas on Metallurgy and Material Science for both metallurgists and non-metallurgists. It covers materials and processes involved in melting, hot and cold forming, and metal finishing for corrosion and wear resistance.

PGPM admissions to ISB&F

KIC’s Masters programme in ICT

Kobe Institute of Computing (KIC), a Graduate School of Information Technology, Japan, is inviting applications for its Masters programme in ICT. This ICT Masters course is a fully accredited MS Programme and the first of its kind offered by a Japanese University.

Accredited by the Japanese Ministry of Education, KIC has structured the MS programme more towards applications in order to make graduates job ready and attractive to companies.

The MS programme covers a wide range of technical and business fields including Modern Computer Architecture, Advanced Programming, Database Systems, Advanced Network Protocol, Operating Systems, Computer Security and Cryptography, Human-Centered Mobile Computing, Embedded Systems, Simulation and Optimisation, Real-Time Systems, Emerging Human Interfaces, 3D and New Media, Social Entrepreneurship, Asian Regional ICT Business, ICT Organisation and Management, Patents and Intellectual Property, Developing ICT Solutions to solve Social Issues, Open Source Software Business, Essence of Japanese Quality, In Search of Japanese Culture and Society, Internship (First year) & Graduation Project (Second year). 

The course starting in April 2012 will have 12 consecutive semesters of two months each, over two years. In order to enable meritorious students from all backgrounds to pursue this programme, KIC provides financial assistance in select cases and also allows overseas students to find part time jobs for helping themselves.

The total intake for the MS programme is 30 students with a maximum of 10 from India. Admission to the programme is based on an entrance examination and an interview. University graduates with basic IT knowledge can apply for the entrance examination.

MSc in Cosmetology

MBA programme

Under an MoU, Radio One will be an academic partner with Manipal University, by providing academic training, infrastructure and networking links with the industry to fulfil the educational needs of the students enrolled. Students pursuing an MBA M&E will be provided with the option of pursuing their 4th semester of the programme with specialisation in Radio Broadcasting and Management with Radio One at their stations in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Pune and Ahmedabad.

The two-year MBA programme in Media & Entertainment (4 semesters, full time) offered by Manipal University comes with a specialisation in Radio or Film in the 4th semester. The first three semesters of the MBA programme will be conducted in Manipal University, Bangalore campus, covering all General Management subjects and media and entertainment case studies. The final and 4th semester of the programme will be conducted at various industry organisations.
