Public called upon to make use of Janaspandana programme

Inaugurating Janaspandana organised at Someshwara community hall in Arabhikottanur village of the taluk on Sunday, he said that the State government has organised the programme to ameliorate the plight of people who come to government offices at district headquarters for various purposes.

 The administration has made arrangements to send the officers to the hobli level for redressing the grievances and the public should make use of the facility, he said.

Taluk Panchayat president Udayashankar said that Janaspandana could be a meaningful event only if the officers respond to the pleas of the public. Majority are participating in the programme to avail benefits of the government schemes. Officers of approximately 30 departments take part in Janaspandana and people should resolve their grievances, if any, at the spot.

Tahsildar S M Mangala informed that some applications seeking grant of old age pension were incomplete and they could be considered only after all the details are filled. The applicants will have to wait at least for two months.

A total of 55 applications were received at the programme and 26 bonds under Bhagyalakshmi scheme were issued. Benefits of Sandhya Suraksha and allowance for physically challenges were extended to 450 people on the occasion.

Taluk Panchayat vice-president T B Jayalakshmi, member Jayamma Sonnegowda, Gram Panchayat president Munirathnamma and others were present on the occasion.
