According to police, the suspects visited a shop owned by Boramma (57) near Ganesh temple auto stand in Thyagarajnagar and bought cigarettes. They claimed they wanted to start a new business and sought her blessings.
They gave her a Rs 100 currency note and requested her to touch it to her gold chain and return with blessings. Boramma did so, and the suspects collected the note and chain and fled.
