Indian girls get off to a flying start

Pitted in Pool B, India, led by Dipika Pallikal, came through without dropping a game to launch their campaign on a winning note. Dipika thumped Marie Sedlmeier 11-4, 11-3, 11-5 and Surbhi Misra ousted Stefanie Rosner 11-6, 11-1, 11-7.

Anwesha Reddy completed the formalities with a comfortable 11-9, 11-7, 11-5 win over Caroline Sayegh.

Meanwhile, top seed Egypt, overflowing with talent, raced past Sweden 3-0 in Pool A.
