Man held with 10 crude bombs in Gujarat

Police said Shazad had an altercation with his wife on Saturday night when he threatened to blow her off with bombs. Scared, the woman called the police control room in the morning.

While police initially found one crude bomb in Shahzad’s possession, Shazad later confessed to  stacking away more bombs in the nearby Chandola lake.

However, police right now is not seeing a terror angle to the recovery but suspected that there could have been an attempt to trigger communal trouble.

Officials maintained that prima facie this appeared a bid to create communal tension, which did not work. “As of now it seems these bombs were made to use during rathyatra to deepen communal fissure,” an officer said. So far there has been no terror angle to the discovery of the low intensity bombs.

“However, we are still investigating and questioning Shazad,”  said officials.
