Onam fair begins in City

Stocks of traditional Kerala attire like handloom sarees, set mundu, dhotis and Kavani, exquisite handicraft items, sandalwood products, mural painting, `Nethipattanam’ (which is used to decorate elephants) and varied sizes of `Aranmula’ (the metal mirrors which are placed in puja rooms to appease Goddess Pavithri) figure among the interesting pieces available here. 

The traditional lamp was formally lit by M K Baladevakrishna, Managing Director, Karnataka Silk Industrial Corporation Limited to mark the inauguration.

The emporium is located at `Subharam Complex’ at 144, M G Road.The fair is open from 10 am to 7 p m.
