JOIN USActing on a tip off, detectives swooped on the foreigners who visited India on tourist visa, each time staying in Delhi for two to six months and offering their services to select customers.
The six call girls were paid Rs.1 lakh a month, a senior officer said. The seventh woman was a pimp -- and a foreigner too.
The male pimp was identified as Deepak Verma, 25, from Pittoragarh in Uttaranchal.
According to police, Verma worked for a man said to be Ashish, the kingpin of the racket and owner of a website, Delhi Top Escorts.
The arrests were made Monday from Delhi's South Extension area following a deal struck with a decoy customer, Deputy Commissioner of Police Ashok Chand said.
The call girls lived in a rented accommodation in south Delhi paying a rent of Rs.35,000 a month, an officer said.
"The lady pimp visited India several times and had been operating in different areas of south Delhi," Chand said.
"They have a select clientele and a new client was entertained only on the reference of an old client," he said.
