Among the top stumpers: Ojha

“I don’t keep well to spinners. I spend so much time on my batting and open the batting that I haven’t worked on keeping . Thankfully, now my coach Sanjay Jagdale sir and Hiru Sir (Narendra Hirwani) are telling me how to keep spinners,” Ojha told the IPL’s official website.

“I am in the top five or six (in India) though,” he added.

“I have been speaking a lot to senior players who play the domestic circuit. They say I need to play the spinners from the rough with a bit more authority. They have also asked me to tighten my defence. I even spoke to Gautam (Gambhir) about it. And thankfully all that has worked.

“I tried to play too many strokes against the spinners. If you see my record I have scored a lot of 40, 45, 50 but when the spinners come I have been impatient and try to play too many strokes,” revealed Ojha.

“Graeme Smith teaches me how to face fast bowlers on bouncy wicket.

“The initial positioning of the body. I am happy that I am back or else I wouldn’t have got this golden chance,” the diminutive batsman added.

Ojha started his career alongside Mahendra Singh Dhoni and rues that while Dhoni moved on to become Indian skipper, he continues to languish in the domestic circuit.
“I started my cricket at the same time with Dhoni but today he has gone so far ahead. I am still just playing domestic cricket,” he said.
