India take on fourth seeded Canada in the quarterfinals on Thursday. A win would pit them against the winner of the other quarterfinal match between sixth seeded Hong Kong and New Zealand, the eighth seed.

In its last league match in the four team Group B, India had little difficulty in disposing off England but Anaka Alankamony did survive some anxious moments against Julianne Courtice before winning 15-13, 8-11, 14-12, 9-11, 11-7.

After Dipika Pallikal and Surbhi Misra gave India a 2-0 lead. Pallikal beat Millie Tomlinson 11-6, 11-5, 11-7, while Misra got past Kimberley Hay 11-9, 11-3, 11-7.

In Pool A match, Australia defeated Sweden 3-0. Tamika Saxby gave Aussies the lead by beating Jennie Lindstrom 11-7, 11-8, 11-2 before Sarah Cardwell swelled it to 2-0. Sarah beat Matilda Ravn-Holm 13-11, 11-7, 11-2. Christine Nunn ended Sweden’s agony outplaying Eira Mooney 11-4, 11-6, 11-5 in the third match.
