A floral treat for visitors to Lalbagh

The event showcases a wide variety of vegetables, flowers, fruits and horticulture plants. The crowd-puller of the show is the floral replica of the Lotus temple in Delhi.

The arrangements of cut flowers, Thai art, Jannur Ikebana, Indian Floral Art, Bonsai and vegetable carving are also on display.

As many as 593 government bodies and semi-government institutions are participating in the event, apart from 395 competitors who will fight it out in the vegetable carving competition.

Inaugurating the show, Mayor Sharadamma, said: “The replica of the Lotus temple, which is the centre of attraction at the event is in keeping with the tradition of Bangalore. It is mesmerising.”

Chikpet MLA Dr Hemachandra Sagar, floor leader of the ruling party B R Nanjundappa, Opposition leader Udayashankar and Horticulture department principal secretary Vandita Sharma were present.
