The delegates who went to Konkan Kogul’s house comprised Bellary Bishop Rev Fr Henry D’Souza, Maandd Sobhann Gurkar Eric Ozario, President Louis J Pinto and Roy Castelino.
Back at Kalaangann, the first Global Konkani Music awards ceremony was no less than any Filmfare award ceremony with dance and music in between every award presentation.

The star attraction of the day was undoubtedly pop singer Usha Uthup, the chief guest of the day, who also presented the awards to the winners.

Speaking on the occasion, she said that she was overwhelmed to see the simple yet elegant programme organised by Mandd Sobhann. Stating that she is ‘Indian’ is real sense, she said she was born in Tamil Nadu, brought up in Maharashtra, married a Keralite and lived in Bengal.

Usha Uthup also sang two songs and enthralled the Mangaloreans.

Maandd Sobhann Gurkar Eric Ozario, President Louis J Pinto and Co-ordinator Stany Alvares besides all the 10 eminent judges including Sangeeth Vidwan Rev Dr Charles Vas were present.
