A fairytale life

HBO presents ‘A Cinderella Story’ on August 11 at 9 pm. The movie stars Hilary Duff, Chad Murray, Jennifer Coolidge and Regina King. Deep in the heart of the San Fernando Valley, Sam, a modern-day Cinderella, finds her Prince Charming on the Internet. Despite the comically malevolent efforts of her stepmother and stepsisters to keep her at work in their diner, Sam dreams of meeting her online soul mate at the high school Halloween dance.

Now, Sam discovers that outward appearances can be deceiving and that even in San Fernando Valley, stories can have a happy ending.

A sweeping tour

The Ultimate Biker Challenge’ will have petrol heads going weak in the knees as the series take viewers on a sweeping tour through Europe to get down and dirty with the local motorbike scenes.

Travelling across Europe with host and ex-racer Warren Pole, the series meets bikers of all flavours — from fearless dune racers in the British Isles and Street Terror Crew stunt riders in Poland, to Soviet- style sidecar racers in Russia.

Not only does he meet the players, Pole also plays the game with fellow motorheads as he learns how to build custom bikes like the German Street Fighter and Swedish Chopper.

‘The Ultimate Biker Challenge’ airs on August 11 at 10.30 pm on Discovery Turbo.

Spectacular forces

Disasters, whether manmade or natural, are a part of life on earth. Hurricanes, massive explosions, tornados, floods, mudslides and fires sometimes threaten human lives and harm communities.

Discovery Science brings to its viewers the science behind the most basic but violent forces in ‘Against The Elements’.

In each episode, leading scientists analyse astonishing and spectacular scenes of force driven by air, earth, fire and water.

From terrifying tornados and devastating flows of water to massive sinkholes and raging buildings, scientists reveal what is happening chemically, physically and environmentally during every moment of these incredible events from around the world.

‘Against The Elements’ airs on August 11 at 7.30 pm.

Living in the wild

In ‘Big Cat Diary’, teams resolutely tracked the daily routines, fortunes and misfortunes of big cats. For the first time, millions of viewers became part of the true-life adventures of two lion prides, two families of cheetahs and a mother leopard and her cub in Kenya’s Masai Mara. No one can predict how the lives of these big cats will unfold — or what further developments await. ‘Big Cat Diary’ airs on August 11 at 10 pm on Animal Planet.
