'BJP is a den of corrupt people'

Addressing a news conference, Devaraj said that BJP has been torn into two factions and the MLAs from the district have been divided between two factions, after being unable to exhibit unity.

He said that the local MLAs in the quest for getting the ministerial berth have completely ignored the district.

“Inquiry must be held into the corruption cases in the state as well as the district.

The new CM must make all efforts to bring in corruption free administration,” he said urging the Chief Minister who ones represented the constituency as the Member of Parliment to pay attention towards development of the roads, revival of lakes, implementation of drinking water projects and release additional funds for the development of hilly areas.

He said that a list of problems faced by the district will be handed over to the new CM during his visit to the district and in case 70 per cent of the problems mentioned in the list is not tackled them JD(S) will stage a stir.

Solve naxal problem

“If the Chief Minister has the will to make a difference then he should solve the naxal problem and the Dattapeet issue.

If he strives to solve the Dattapeet issue harmoniously, then the party will extend its support to him,” he said adding that additional funds must be released for the development of naxal affected areas.

“The benefits from the government must reach the real beneficiaries. Emphasis must be given on improving the financial condition of the people living in naxal affected area,” he said

Disease in areca

Yellow leaf disease has destroyed arecanuts in Koppa, Sringeri and NR Pura taluks. Excess rains in Malnad region have destroyed coffee crops as well, said Devaraj demanding the Chief Minister to constitute a delegation to the Centre to inform about the existing problems in the district.
