'Women played key role in civilisation'

So women are responsible for all civilisation of the human race, said folklore scholar P K Rajashekar.

He was speaking after inaugurating the Samsa and sports forum at the JSS Women’s College in Mysore on Thursday. Rajashekar said: “A woman can be intelligent and caring at the same time. The credit to making each generation civilised should go to women, who take care of the young ones. The encouragement being given to women’s education is giving a real boost to the advancement of the society.”

Calling upon the students to understand the vital role played by women in shaping the
society, he said education should not make them egoistic.

Sports Authority of India volleyball coach S B Suresh, principal of the college G K Chandrashekarappa, academic dean K V Suresha, principal of the JSS PU College M P Rajeshwari, convenor of Samsa forum H M Nagabhushan, president of sports forum M B Huchagundar, president of Samsa forum N Geetha, secretary B R Shruthi, sports secretary R Kavya and others were present on the occasion.
