Deve Gowda and sons are tarnishing my image

Speaking after inaugurating the ‘Congress Nadige Janara Balige’ programme at Hosuru village in Gundlupet taluk of Chamarajanagar district, he predicted that the BJP government would topple in the next few months. It is impossible for the new chief minister Sadananda Gowda to carry on development works amid internal bickerings in the party.

With the BJP dividing into two factions the people of the state are totally confused as to which faction they have to lend their support. He also appealed to the people to support Congress party, which has successfully implemented several pro-people programmes.
MLA H S Mahadevaprasad who spoke on the occasion said need of the hour is to create awareness among the rural people on the various projects of the Centre and also the rampant corruption prevailing in the BJP government.

He also said that it is difficult for the BJP to ascend to power in future. Former MLA Somashekar, taluk block Congress president P B Rajashekar, taluk panchayat former president H N Basavaraju, ZP former president B M Muniraju and several other leaders were present.

Former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa alleged that former prime minister Deve Gowda and his sons are continuing their tirade to tarnish his image and have dragged his name in Bhadra uppercanal scam.

Speaking to mediapersons in Hassan on his way to Sringeri and Balehonnur to attend a private programme, he said he is ready to face any probe and exuded confidence that he would come back clean.

Commenting on the FIR filed against him, Yeddyurappa said filing FIR doesn’t mean that he is accused. If anyone approaches police, filing FIR is the normal procedure followed at the police station. Later, after verification the innocent are freed and guilty are punished. Similarly, a FIR is filed in his name but will be announced innocent, he claimed and added that he will abide by the court’s decision.

Speaking on mining irregularities, he said all parties are involved in the scandal and even Deve Gowda has been supplied with huge amount of money. He would not comment more on the same as the truth will come out soon, he said.

He refused to comment on inducting Reddy brothers in the cabinet and said cabinet expansion doesn’t come under his purview and chief minister Sadananda Gowda and party state president Eshwarappa are the right persons to speak on the same.Ministers V Somanna and Renukacharya, MLA Belur Gopalakrishna accompanied Yeddyurappa.
