People's Problems

Dug-up footpaths eat parking space

The digging up of the footpaths in Shakambari Nagar, JP Nagar Ist Phase, started about a month ago. Gutters were also dug up and the sullage has been deposited on the road along with stone slabs.

The authorities concerned promised to complete the work on one side of the road and then take up the other side. But, after digging up on one side, no work has been carried out for the past 20 days. The other side has also been dug up.

People are forced to park cars on the 7th Cross of the road. To make matters worse, the authorities have started digging up the 7th Cross of the road also.

Will the authorities take some action immediately ?

Faulty streetlights

Streetlights are not being maintained properly for the past few months in Naidu Layout, Kuvempu Nagar Ward-11.

More than half of the sodium vapour lamps are faulty. Several complaints have been registered with the BBMP helpline but no action has been taken. The mobile number of the contractor is also not active. Will the authorities concerned bother to take appropriate action to repair these faulty lights?

Lay road humps

The four-kilometre first Main Road of 80-foot width from Chord Road to Havanur Circle is the main entrance to Basaveswarnagar. The road has heavy traffic throughout the day.

The pedestrians find it extremely difficult to cross the road. Road humps in front of Basaveswarnagar police station and Total Gas are urgently required to avoid accidents.
This is the only remedy available to tackle the problem.

M Anandachar,

Garbage dump on vacant site

A vacant site on 15th Cross, Girinagar 2nd Phase, BSK III stage, has turned into a garbage dumpyard.

It has become a breeding place for mosquitoes and rodents. The place also stinks as it is used as an open toilet.

Could the BBMP take necessary steps to clear the garbage and also prevent dumping?

NNK Murthy,

Repair damaged roads

The roads on Bangalore University campus are completely damaged. Motorists and pedestrians find it difficult to drive/walk on the road. No one has bothered to repair them for the past two years.

Many people use this road to reach far northern parts of Bangalore. Accidents occur almost every day on these roads. This road should be immediately repaired and made good for public use. The condition of the road from Nagarbhavi Circle to University campus is also the same. I request the authorities concerned to immediately address the issue.

Prakash Srinivasaiah,

Provide stoppage for buses

BMTC and KSRTC buses have stopped picking up and dropping passengers at the 18th Cross Sampige Road and  Margosa Road bus stops. Due to the ongoing underpass work at Maramma Temple on 18th Cross, the traffic police have made a clear route for buses proceeding towards and coming from Yeshwantpur. However, bus drivers take short cuts through 15th Cross , 9th Cross, 4th Main (all residential areas), not only creating inconvenience to commuters but also disturbing the residents of these areas.

Complaints have been made and acknowledged by BMTC and Traffic Police. However, there has been no change in the situation. The authorities should ensure that BMTC/KSRTC and private bus operators stop the buses at 18th Cross Sampige Road/Margosa Road with immediate effect.

Sewage flow in front of bank

We, at the State Bank of India, ADE Branch, located near CMH Hospital in Indiranagar, are facing a lot of problems due to sewage flowing at the gate of the branch. It gives off a foul smell and customers  are refusing to come to the branch because of the stench.

We sincerely request you to sort out this problem at the earliest as the sewage is flowing for the past one month and nothing has been done till now. Our branch gate is on the main road; hence we are all the more embarrassed to face the customers when they approach us with this sewage problem.
