Manjunath Bailpattar (22), her son, was seriously injured in the attack. They were riding a two-wheeler to attend the Independence Day celebrations in her school, when bike-borne miscreants attacked her with a sickle.
According to eyewitnesses, the brother-in-law of Gangubai was behind the attack. Family feud is said to be the reason for the murder.
