There is a rule that national flags have to be hoisted on a 20 feet tall pole at the government offices.

But the officials of CDPO have violated the norms and have hoisted the tri-colour on a wooden pole insulting it. Moreover, the wooden pole has not been sunk in the earth but has been tied to the iron grill at the premises.

Tahsildar N S Chidanand, who received information on the same visited the spot and inquired the officials concerned. To his surprise, the officials said they have been following the same system since years, as the department lacks a building of its own.

Chidanand said a notice would be issued to the CDPO Sarala and the matter would be brought to the notice of the deputy commissioner.
