<p>The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), which conducts the competitive entrance test, plans to conduct the online examination on a mass scale. <br /><br />In May, 2011, the examination was conducted online for the first time.<br /><br />Held generally on the last Sunday of April, AIEEE is used by 30 National Institutes of Technology (NITs), five Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), 13 other Central/State Government institutes, and 23 self-financed institutes, deemed universities, etc. <br /><br />The examination, introduced in 2002, consists of two papers. Paper 1 has three sections – mathematics, physics, and chemistry. Paper 2, too, has three sections – mathematics, drawing, and aptitude. <br /><br />Utter chaos<br /><br />Utter chaos had prevailed at various centres across the country during this year’s examination on May 1, 2011 when the question paper was found to be leaked in Uttar Pradesh. <br /><br />Consequently, examination in the morning session was delayed by three hours whereas students scheduled in the afternoon session had to write it at a later date.</p>
