‘Yes, I’m lonely’

This Sunday, watch international pop star, Lady Gaga, talk her heart out to Simi Garewal on ‘Simi Selects India’s Most Desirable’ on Star World. The show brings you Stefani Germanotta, popularly known as Lady Gaga, to reveal intimate and interesting details about herself. Right from her childhood to her stardom, Lady Gaga talks about all.

Today along with her bestselling albums, she is known for her dressing sense. On meeting the elegant hostess, Simi Garewal, she says, “You are not dressed regularly. You look like a fashionista in my eyes.”

Moreover, she calls her dressing style — “avant-garde, high street fashion.”
While chatting with the elegant hostess, the most sought after pop star also reveals, “All my lashes are in the shower. I wake up in the morning and obsessively line them up.” She goes on to say, “I’m an artiste. So yes, I’m lonely and married to loneliness.”

She also discloses her greatest fear of “Somehow missing out on a creative idea as I won’t have time.” She also says, “I used to smoke cigarettes, now I don’t.”

Speaking about her love for food, she adds, “I like pasta, anything Italian. I love Indian food. I love the spicy food — the curry. I used to eat Indian food in New York.” When asked about Bollywood, she says, “I love Bollywood. It’s completely surreal and genius.”

Known to be a workaholic, this 25-year-old pop diva also says, “I would die without my work.” Lady Gaga’s contributions to the music industry have accrued her numerous achievements including five Grammy Awards, among twelve nominations; two Guinness World Records and the estimated sale of 64 million records; making her one of the best-selling music artistes worldwide. Commenting on the same, she says, “I am reborn every time with my new song and new album.”

Exploring Indian cuisine

Rhodes Across India’ airs on August 20 at 9 pm on Discovery Channel. Gary Rhodes and a team of young sous-chefs take the trip of a lifetime. Their mission is to find the best of authentic Indian cuisine, learn how to cook it, and then return home to cater to a major banquet in celebration of India’s independence.
In each episode of ‘Rhodes Across India’, Gary and his team explore a difficult regional cuisine. From food for royalty to delicacies cooked on the streets, Punjabi to Parsi, Mughlai to Marwari, they learn about ingredients, flavours, cooking techniques and the culture surrounding each dish they explore.
As if that was not tough enough, Gary will then have to impress one of the most successful Indian chefs in the UK. Atul Kuchhar’s restaurant Benares is the setting for Gary’s feast. Will Gary live up to the challenge of preparing Indian food in an Indian restaurant for an Indian clientele?

Sona Mohapatra starts the show with a bang by performing the latest hit, ‘I Hate You, Like I Love You.’

Nirmitee Group does a disco ‘dhamaka’ on stage with their song, ‘Koi Yahan Aha Naache Naache’.  Judge Sanjay Leela Bhansali is so impressed that he sings a few lines from the song and joining him on stage are the other two judges — Shreya Ghoshal and Sonu Nigam.
