JOIN USSESI (South) Vice President Professor S Srinivasa Murthy will inaugurate and Canara Engineering College Correspondent M Padmanabha Pai will be the chief guest.
Bharathiya Vikas Trust Ltd Managing Trustee K M Udupa will preside over the function.
To create awareness about new and renewable sources of energy, a slogan, essay and poster competition on “Green Energy for Sustainable Development” and paper presentation on “Solar Mission-Towards Building Solar India” will be held. Exhibition of various renewable and non renewable energy systems and field visits of students to the NRSE installation are also arranged.
The College has also developed renewable energy systems in solar energy, wind energy, wave energy and bio fuel systems. Some of the recently developed solar system projects of the college include ‘Solar still’ which gives an out put of 2 to 3 liters of distilled water and solar thermal energy conversion and storage, he said.
The College is expecting the VTU-Research grant for the research on “Design Development of Biomass-PV Based Hybrid Power systems,” he informed.
