JOIN USThe 14-year-old servant, hailing from Bihar, was arrested on the charges of attempt to murder, who confessed to the crime. The child was admitted to a private hospital, police said.
The accused was employed by the child’s father, Akeel Abdul Khakra, eight days ago.
According to the police, Akeel’s wife had shouted at the maid after she broke crockery at their house in Honda Mansion building in south Mumbai’s Byculla area three days ago.
“The girl was very upset after that. On Sunday morning, the girl took Rehan to the terrace of the building and hurled him from there,” said Sanjay Kadam, senior inspector at Nagpada police station.
“Rehan fell on the ground and sustained severe injuries. The toddler was spotted by other children playing in the compound, who later alerted his parents. The victim was taken to nearby Prince Ali Khan Hospital and admitted in ICU,” Kadam added.
The 14-year-old girl belongs to Muzaffarpur in Bihar.
