Akshara Dasoha employees seek hike in salaries

The Honorary President was addressing a meeting of the Akshara Dasoha employees held at the Ambedkar Bhavan in the City on Tuesday. The meeting was organised to air the grievances of the Akshara Dasoha employees.

Munikrishnappa said the prices of the essential commodities were increasing day by day. It was difficult for the employees working under the Akshara Dasoha scheme to lead their lives within the present salary. The salaries of the employees should be hiked accordingly, he said.

Speaking on the occasion, Akshara Dasoha officer R Ashwathaiah said the Akshara Dasoha programme was one of the most ambitious programmes of the State Government. The Government was utilising the services of the employees for the success of the programme.
It had also provided the people with employment opportunities. Whatever, justified rights and demands the employees had, they should be place them before the Government, to be fulfilled, in a legal and peaceful manner, he added.

Assistant Director of the Akshara Dasoha programme Chandrappa said the Akshara Dasoha employees must open individual accounts in the banks. The salaries of the employees will be directly credited in to their accounts.

The employees of the Akshara Dasoha programme were facing a lot of problems and grievances. The amount of ration supplied under the Akshara Dasoha programme some times varied. This, the employees had to set them right. Also, there was a delay in the crediting of their salaries every month.

The employees also required funds for the repair of items like utensils and other kitchen equipment in the preparation of meals, urged CITU District Secretary Lakshmidevamma.
