'Bhadra project land losers to get '7.5 lakh compensation'

Speaking a programme to distribute cheque to the beneficiaries under Suvarna Bhoomi yojane in Narasimharajapura, he said a sum of Rs 5 crore has been released to Narasimharajapura taluk under Suvarna Bhoomi yojane. A sum of Rs 5,000 will be given to 2,320 beneficiaries in the first phase.

This includes -1997 farmers growing horticulture crops, 297 are farmers and 26 farmers under fisheries sector. The Sringeri constituency has 15,000 small farmers and a sum of Rs 15 crore has been released.

All the beneficiaries will get the first installment under the scheme within a week. A sum of Rs 123 crore has been released under National Horticulture Mission to the state. Of which, a sum of Rs 8.23 crore has been released for the rejuvenation of arecanut growers. A sum of Rs 30,000 will be given to those arecanut growers who are in distress.

Roads have been developed at a cost of Rs 145 crore in the constituency. A 5.50 metre width road will be developed from Shimoga to N R Pura. The work on Kuduregundi-Chikkgrahara road will be developed soon.

Taluk Krishika Samaja President Nilesh Kumar, Taluk Panchayat Vice-President B B Uma and others were present.
