'Kodagu district hospital to be upgraded'

Government has released a sum of Rs 50 lakh, says Speaker

Speaking to presspersons after inaugurating free health check up camp for the journalists under Kodagu district Journalists Welfare Fund here on Saturday, he said the state government has selected 10 district hospitals for upgradation in the first phase. The district hospital in Kodagu will have state of the art facilities with its upgradation. The upgradation of the hospital will benefit the poor who otherwise will have to depend on private hospitals for treatment by paying huge amount.

He said doctors should treat the patients well. They should inculcate qualities of empathy and patience. The change in the life style and food habits has made the people to visit doctors for many ailments.

District Journalists Association President Sridhar Nellithaya said that health card facilities must be given for the district journalists. All the journalists must be given bus pass facilities.

ZP President Shantheyanda Ravi Kushalappa said that efforts will be made to provide sites to the journalists. Measures will be taken to identify land in Galibeedu. District Surgeon Dr C K Ajith Kumar, Zilla Panchayat member S N Rajarao, Dr Uthappa, S Mahesh and others were present.
