Indian golfers flounder

Matt Kuchar, looking to become a repeat winner at Barclays, added a six-under 65 to his first round 63 and moved to 14-under, one shot ahead of Dustin Johnson (63) and veteran Vijay Singh (64).

Indian trio out

None of the Indian golfers in fray could break par in the second round resulting in all three of them missing the midway cut at the Johnnie Walker Championships at Gleneagles, Scotland on Friday. Shiv Kapur missed it by one stroke, while Jeev Milkha Singh and Gaganjeet Bhullar crashed out by a fair distance in the European Tour event.

Kapur carded 72 and 73 for a total of one-over 145. Jeev (75, 73) and Bhullar (75, 79) were further down the leaderboard.Spaniard Ignacio Garrido made his move late on the second day to claim the outright lead. 

Meanwhile, Indian golfer Rahil Gangjee carded a three-under 69, which included an eagle, to be tied 56th after the second round of the Nationwide Tour’s News Sentinel Open at Tennessee on Friday.

John Mallinger added a seven-under 65 to his 63 to take sole lead at 16-under after two rounds. Garrett Willis (66) moved to 14-under and Kirk Triplett (64) is third at 13-under 131.
