JOIN USAccording to police, Pradeep Kumar (30), a resident of Vigyan Nagar in Kota married Suman (25) in 2002. However, after the birth of their son there was some dispute and the couple lived separately. Suman also filed a complaint against Pradeep for demanding dowry and a divorce case was pending. There was also dispute over the custody of their seven-year-old son.
On Sunday morning, Pradeep came on a motor cycle with two loaded revolvers and force entered in to the his in-laws’ house.
He then opened fire indiscriminately killing his wife, brother in-law Sanjay and his wife and another member of the family.
His father-in-law Prakash Chand sustained serious injuries and was admitted to the Kota medical college.
Police said Pradeep fled and took shelter at his sister’s house in the same village where threatened to kill himself.
Talking to the crowd and mediapersons, Pradeep justified his action saying his in-laws were harassing him since long.
The villagers tried to mollify him but he shot himself in the presence of the onlookers. Police said his son, however, survived the carnage.
