'It is time for Governor to intervene'

Last Updated 06 September 2011, 17:54 IST

Addressing a news conference on Tuesday, KPCC Secretary Ivan D’Souza said that though the Congress had no role to play in the raid conducted by the CBI, the overall action against corruption in the state gained momentum because of the efforts of Congress. With this, D’Souza said that it is the right time for the Governor to intervene.

Coming down heavily on Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda for making efforts to meet BJP National President Nithin Gadkari in Nagpur along with former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, D’Souza said that it is unbecoming of Gowda to go with Yeddyurappa to meet their national chief to discuss ways to save the tainted ministers.

“BJP called itself to be as pure as ‘24carat’ gold but off late, its true colour has been exposed. If BJP is sincerely wanting to root out corruption from the state then why is it not ready to hold CBI inquiry and implement the recommendations made by the Lokayukta in his report,” he questioned. He said that with the Reddy brothers proclaiming that BJP came to power in the state with their money power, BJP should take moral responsibility and step down.

Struggle

D’Souza said that Congress  is determined to fight against the BJP and to chalk out the plan of action, the Congress leaders will meet in Bangalore on Wednesday.
