JOIN USMiscreants who allegedly gained entry of a house by breaking open the lock have escaped with a booty of ` 25,000 cash and 430 gms of gold ornaments, at Vidyanagar in Hassan.
The burglary was reported at a house belonging to Umashankar of Vidyanagar. It is said that Umashankar was on a pilgrimage tour to Kollur with his family from September 3 and had left the house locked. The burglary came to light when the family returned home on
Tuesday midnight, it is learnt.
The robbers had ransacked the almirah and had strewn the clothes and other articles after breaking open the lock and escaped with ` 25,000 cash and gold chain, necklace, earring and other gold ornaments weighing 430 gms worth ` seven lakh. A case has been registered and senior police officers visited the spot and are investigating.
