The CBI, which is probing the alleged irregularities in Emaar properties, issued notices to as many as 85 VIPs. The list includes film stars Mahesh Babu, his wife Namrata Shirodkar, Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan Teja, TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu’s daughter-in-law Nara Brahmani, Industries Minister J Geetha Reddy, former APCC president D Srinivas, senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu’s daughter-in-law M Radha, Mines and Geology Minister Galla Aruna Kumari’s daughter–in-law Galla Padmavathi and others.

The rich and the famous in the dock were served notices as they have purchased posh villas at dirt cheap price of Rs 5,000 per square yard while the prevailing market price was above Rs 1 lakh, resulting in huge losses to the state exchequer.
According to CBI joint director V V Lakshminarayana, they will be questioned from September 14 to 18 and their statements will be recorded. The CBI officials will record statements of women at their residences, while others will be questioned at the CBI camp office at the Dilkusha Guesthouse on Rajbhavan Road.
“We will conduct more searches in the ongoing investigation in the Jagan and Emaar cases. Even in the Karnataka illegal mining scam case, we will examine some more directors of OMC,” he added.
Intensifying its investigation in the Jagan-Emaar case, the CBI slueths conducted searches at the residence and offices of Lagadapati Sridhar, chairman of Jubilee Media House, at Jubilee Hills and Madapur. Questioning of vice chairman of Jagati publications Vijay Sai Reddy also continued for the sixth day on Thursday.
