Adima chairman Kotiganahalli Ramaiah told reporters that the troupe that returned after its successful show, was given a grand welcome at the Adima.

Manu Baligar, commissioner of the department denied grants to the troupe, “to settle scores” with him for criticising Baligar at a programme in Bangalore recently, he alleged.
The department gave Rs 65 lakh to Vidhyavardhaka Sangah and Rs 25 lakh to music university in Gulbarga, but has not come forward to support the regional threater school.

He alleged that the department has misused the funds meant for promoting culture and art forms of the Dalit community. He said the Adima troupe had to raise funds up to Rs two lakh which was sufficent only to buy ticket for only one of the troupe. For the remaining expenses, it had to borrow. The department has not considered even well-known writers’ letters appealing for assistance to Adima, he said.
