"Yatras have yielded negative results always. Most of them have turned communal, inciting unnecessary violence and chaos," Moily told reporters here a day after Advani announced the plan for the nation-wide yatra.
He said Congress had taken several measures to tackle corruption and added "we have been far more successful in dealing with corruption. Holding a yatra will be no good."
Moily rejected BJP's charge that Congress was behind the arrest of former Karnataka minister and mining magnate G Janardhana Reddy by CBI in connection with illegal mining. He said the Land Acquisition Bill introduced in Parliament was "pro-farmer".
