Last Updated 10 August 2009, 18:30 IST

Speaking to Deccan Herald New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) Chairman P Tamilvanan said “the conciliation meeting between the management of the Port and the Union leaders is being continued. So far nothing has been decided and we are trying our best to end the strike.”

Meanwhile the strike of RCHW has entered the ninth day on Monday. A proposal submitted by the union leaders on Saturday was rejected by the port management since they had found it to be very much higher side in comparison with the manning scales decided by National Industrial Tribunal (NIT) Award.
