Mayawati also pledged her party’s support to the UPA government at the Centre if the latter brought a bill to this effect in Parliament to amend the Constitution for the purpose.
In a letter to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Saturday, Mayawati said that it was necessary to give reservation to the minorities, especially the muslims, for the betterment of their lot.
“The condition of the muslim community is not good even 64 years after independence,” Mayawati said in her letter.
