Speaking to Deccan Herald, Air India Express Station Head Chellam Prasad said that soon after the flight took off, Irene Rodrigues, one of the passengers, developed severe head ache. Hence, the aircraft pilot immediately contacted the ground staff and returned to Bajpe airport.
As soon as it arrived, a doctor went on board and examined the patient and later she was shifted to a private hospital. It is said that Rodrigues had undergone a surgery recently. Her husband James Rodrigues too was travelling with her and he too stayed back with his wife.
The aircraft, after the DGCA check, left for Abu Dhabi at 10.45 am, Prasad informed.
