8 men involved in 16 cases held


The arrested are Abid Ali (21), Surendra (23), M C Muralidhar (22), H S Kirthi (20), H J Lokesh (25), H G Sachin (23), B R Jagadish (40).

The police produced the accused and displayed the commodities including gold ornaments, mobile, camera, car, cylinders etc seized from them at District Police office on Tuesday.
District Superintendent of Police M N Nagaraj said that IGP (Western Range) Gopal Hosur has commended the operation of the police and has announced prize for the police involved in the operation.

The group of 8 persons is said to be a part of all the incidents of car robbery in Charmadi ghat since the last 15 days.

The group used to stop the cars on the ghat, threaten the passengers using weapons and loot them off money and ornaments.

The same group had stolen bisi uta commodities from government schools in the region.

Accordingly, 8 cylinders stolen from 5 schools in Balur region, 2 Bisi uta cookers stolen from Krishnapura school in Mudigere, car and motor cycle stolen from Papareddypalya,

Kottigepalya and Marathhalli in Bangalore, 14 gm gold, all summing up to Rs 2,89,000 have been seized by the police.
