On Saturday, the CBI officials inspected the bank accounts and lockers belonging to the Managing Director of Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC), B V Srinivas Reddy and confiscated a huge amount of cash and gold ornaments. Rumours are flying thick and fast that the CBI will bring Janardhana Reddy also to the city.

Various teams of the CBI have been camping in Bellary for the last few days to collect details and information pertaining to activities of Reddy brothers. It is said that the sleuths are keeping a close watch on the movements of their kin and associates.

Rooms booked
According to sources, 17 rooms have been booked in a private guest house till Monday. The officers of the Income Tax and the Commercial Tax departments, who have also arrived in Bellary, are expected to conduct raids on the Reddy empire any moment.

If the Enforcement Directorate books cases against the Reddys and their associates, based on the information divulged during the CBI investigations, the situation would only worsen for them.

In this backdrop, most of the persons close to the Reddy brothers, have gone missing in the last few days and search is on to locate them.

Meanwhile, the CBI has investigated that the Dalmia Mining Company, located at the Bharatarayana Harivu in Hospet, had supplied iron ore from the surrounding mining areas to the OMC. The owners of Dalmia Mining Company might also be interrogated by the CBI, according to sources.

It can be recalled that the Central Empowered Committee, which conducted inspection of the mining areas, as per the directions of the Supreme Court, had submitted a report stating that S B Minerals, Trident, Muneer and Lakshminarayan Mining Companies were involved in illegal mining.
