Last Updated 12 August 2009, 12:40 IST

The programme will shortlist 23 students from a pool of over 200 students in the Microsoft Student Partner (MSP) community, and empower them as potential young leaders who can play key roles in the community and contribute to the nation’s growth. The selected students will be engaged in initiating and setting up leadership projects on their own – leading, organising and motivating people on campus and in their local communities.

Microsoft Student Partner – Young Leaders programme aims at enabling students with both IT and essential life skills to be better contributing members of the IT workforce of India. The Young Leaders Programme aims to build new horizons for Microsoft Student Partners, the young technology enthusiasts shortlisted by Microsoft from across the geographies. These students are facilitated with state of art technology which provides them an outstanding opportunity to learn new methods and techniques, play around with technology using their creativity and imagination.

The programme is being launched through a two-day boot camp. The camp will focus on mentoring students and providing them with requisite skills, traits and behaviours to form a framework for the leadership development. A calibration exercise will also be conducted to discover the youngsters’ hidden unique leadership potential.
