The 29-year-old, who started her career with Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein opposite
Madhavan, says she hasn’t had success as an actress but doesn’t regret the choices she made. “I have hardly been part of the cinema that could get me my due in Bollywood. I haven’t done any film that proves me as an actress. I am happy to have been a part of all the films I have done because they have taught me a lot,” said Dia.

“Luck plays an important role. I have worked with some film-makers who are very honest and had good stories to tell but unfortunately they didn’t click at the box office,” added Dia.

The actress who later starred in Dus, ‘Cash’ and Dum, says there was a time when she got

frustrated sitting at home, not getting any calls for new projects. “It gets frustrating when your film flops and you are not getting any calls for work and you’re just sitting at home. I have been through that phase and it breaks your heart. There comes a point where you don’t know what to do next and that’s the reason I always kept my options open and wanted to learn everything,” she added.

Dia, who is all excited about her production debut Love BreakUp Zindagi, opposite Zayed Khan says it wasn’t something pre planned but just happened.

“Being a producer was never a part of the plan but I had always thought of being a director. It just happened that when I heard the script I liked it and thought of producing it. It’s a very simple script with a relatable story,” she said.

The actress who entered the industry after winning a beauty pageant, without any filmi background says that it does help to have a godfather. “There are enough people in the industry who have the advantage of their families, and yes, it does help as there is always someone to advice and help you take decisions. You have a platform already set for you. But I am proud of myself that I made on my own. At the end of the day, my victories and failures are mine,” Dia said.
