In a letter written to the Finance Ministry, JPC Chairman P C Chacko has asked for the noting that has generated controversy and put Chidambaram in the dock, with the opposition demanding his resignation and CBI probe to investigate his role in 2G scandal.

However, the Congress and government have come out in support of Chidambaram. Sonia has asked leaders to defend Chidambaram.
