PC chair is shaky, says Cong leader

A senior Congress leader speaking on the “office memorandum” of the finance ministry on 2G scam to the Prime Minister’s Office, said the issue has been blown out of proportion by the media.

However, when asked if all was well in the government and that Chidambaram’s seat was safe, the senior leader, considered close to 10 Janpath replied: “I am not saying so.”

The statement of the Congress leader indicating the mood in the party came after the Centre told the Supreme Court that the CBI can examine any fresh document that had emerged with regard to alleged role of Chidambaram in the 2G case.

Earlier, Congress spokesperson Rashid Alvi told reporters that “Chidambaram has not done anything wrong, therefore, no question of his resignation”.
