Samartha Soudha building construction to begin soon

The building is likely to be based on the Vidhana Soudha model. Narayanaswamy, the engineer who displayed a model for the building, also discussed various offices that are likely to be a part of the building. The building will have inspectors cabin, toilets, offices of the Taluk Panchayat president and vice president and rest rooms.

The first floor of the building will accommodate the Taluk Panchayat office, and the offices of the Chintamani and Shidlaghatta legislators. The second and the third floor will have the offices of government departments. A sum of Rs one crore has been allocated to construct the second floor.

Earlier, an amount of Rs 25 lakh was sanctioned for the building. The rest of the money will be generated from the rent collected from various shops located in the premises. An amount of Rs 40 crore has been deposited in the bank for the purpose.

Speaking to Deccan Herald, Dr M C Sudhakar, legislator remarked, the increased property rates in Bangalore are an added advantage for more funds.

Speaking on the developments of the Rajiv Gandhi Seva Kendra, he said similar developments have been made, keeping in mind the shortcomings of the building. There has been opportunity for widening the building area accordingly. Taluk Panchayat Bhavan, CMC Sabha Bhavan, Government Boys’ and Girls’ College buildings will also be accommodated in this building, based on corporate model.

Commenting on the recent developments of the city, he said that road development work, drinking water tanks under SFI and CM funds, drainage work and other developmental works will be carried out in the district for the purpose.
