Like every love tale, the two neighbours met on a fine day and cupid struck in no time. Love bloomed as they went for jogging together every morning. However, the story took a dramatic turn when the duo, who by the time realised that they could not be together forever, decided to end their life. But a broken promise changed everything.
One of them is now dead and the other is battling for life in a hospital.
The morning walkers in Uttar Pradesh’s Pilibhit district’s Bisalpur town on Wednesday had a shock of their life when they witnessed the dramatic climax of the lovers, Sudheer Kumar and Chanda.
The duo, who were preparing for the police recruitment test and used to go for jogging together. Their relationship was, however, not approved of by their respective families as Chanda was already married though she lived with her parents. Eventually, they decided to end their lives consuming poison. As decided, on Wednesday they arrived at the park.
Sudheer was the first to consume poison. He swallowed the poisonous substance, but Chanda, who had some other plans, refused to follow suit.
Though close to death and shaking, Sudheer, perhaps could not withstand the ‘betrayal’, stabbed Chanda several times inflicting serious wounds on her. Sudheer perhaps had an inkling that Chanda might betray him and had brought a knife with him.
Though Sudheer was rushed to Bareilly Medical College, he died on the way. Severly injured Chanda is admitted to a private hospital in Pilibhit.
