According to the Lokayukta police, the FIR will be lodged against Gowda on allegations of accumulating assets disproportionate to his known sources of income during his tenure as a Karnataka Administrative Services officer.
“We will be investigating into the allegations made against Gowda,” said Gaonkar. On September 22, a retired government official had filed a private complaint in the Special Lokayukta Court alleging that he had amassed wealth of Rs 500 crore, illegally, even though his income during his service did not exceed Rs 30 lakh. The complainant, S N Balakrishna, is a retired assistant manager of Visvesvaraya Iron and Steel Limited, Bhadravathi.
