Intense: A scene from the play.‘Hamlet...’

Cinematograph’s ‘Hamlet - The Clown Prince’, directed by Rajat Kapoor, will be staged on October 2, 3.30 pm and 7.30 pm at Ranga Shankara. There will be shows till October 8.

Vocal delight

Suswaralaya College of Music is holding Navaratri concerts, under the joint auspices of Umamaheshwari Temple, K R Road till October 5, 6.30 pm to 8.45 pm.

On October 1, Savitha Karthik will present a vocal recital while on October 2, R Sheshaprasad will present a vocal recital.


Padmalaya Centre for Performing Arts (PCPA), in association with International Dance Alliance (IDA), is presenting Arpan - An offering of Bhakthi on October 1, 6 pm onwards at Purandara Bhavana. Five groups will present their interpretation of this theme. The participating groups are Bharatanjali, under the guidance of guru Bhanumati (bharatanatyam), Madhulita Mohapatra and group (odissi), Veena and Dhanya Nair (mohiniyattam), ‘Articulate’ (visually challenged artistes) and Shantala Natyalaya (bharatanatyam).

‘Navaratri’ fest

The Navaratri Festival will be held till October 6 at Sri Vani Education Centre, No. 1246, 2nd Stage, Rajajinagar. The events will be held from 6.30 pm to 9 pm.

On October 1, there will be a vocal recital by Sriranjani Santhanagopalan. On violin will be Mathur R Srinidhi, on mridangam, Ashok S and on gh­at­am, Sukanya Ramagopal. On October 2, there will be a Hindustani vocal recital by Ana­gha Bhat. Ashwin Walawalkar will be on harmonium and Keshav Joshi will be on tabla.

Hindustani notes

Sursagar is organising a Hindustani music concert by Nishad Matange and Mowna Ramachandra on October 2, 10.30 am onwards at Hav­y­aka Mahasabha, Malle­sw­a­ram.

Nishad Matange began training in Hindustani classical music under his mother Jyoti Matange and Mahadev Pednekar.

Mowna Ramachandra had her training in Hindu­stani classical music from Arj­unsa Nakod of Dharwad and is now training under the guida­nce of vocalist Veena Saha­srabud.

‘Nara-Simha Yuddham...’

The play Nara-Simha Yuddham - Ondu Premada Kathe, which is’s second feature presentation, will be staged on October 1, 7.30 pm at the Kengal Hanumantaiah Kala Soudha at Hanumanthanagar. The play is directed by Suneel R and written by Arjun Sharma and Harish N Kumar.
