Last Updated 13 August 2009, 17:06 IST

It is said that Anita, a resident of the town, was unconscious when she was brought to the general hospital on Wednesday evening. She succumbed at the hospital.

District Surveillance Officer Anil Chintamani told Deccan Herald that the girl’s medical history does not indicate that she had swine flu, and denied reports that she died of H1N1.

Family members have reportedly informed the Health authorities that the girl was suffering from high fever for a day.

Chintamani said that the girl had been treated for high fever, and was kept under observation.

She had symptoms like severe cough, cold, vomiting, diarrhoea, and might be considered as a swine flu suspect.

However, he said that neither the girl nor members of her family had visited any areas affected by swine flu.
