AIIMS doctor suspected to be suffering from swine flu

A professor at department of Microbiology, who is heading the team of six experts testing the samples, has sent her sputum samples on Friday for testing.

"I have sent my sputum samples and waiting for results. I have been feeling feverish and severe body ache since a couple of days. The results will be available within 24 hours," she said.

More than 200 samples sent by NICD have been already tested under her supervision till now.

"Since August 6 we have been receiving samples. They send us about 30 samples everyday. And only four to five cases have tested positive till now. Rest is all seasonal flu cases," she said.

Test of all swine flu samples are being carried out at NICD, AIIMS and Vallabhai Patel Chest Institute.

Meanwhile, 315 positive cases of swine flu have been reported in the capital. As on date 46 cases are admitted in designated government hospitals in Delhi of which only five are tested positive.

Reports of the remaining 41 patients are still awaited.

The number of positive patients being treated as home quarantine cases is 18. A total of 292 positive cases have been discharged and remaining are being treated.
