Sadashivarao was born in Karnadu near Mulky. He was known for his sacrifices as he had sacrificed all his property even after India attained independence. In his memory, the people of his birth place have been demanding the authorities concerned to rename Lingappayyakad as Karnadu Sadashiva Rao.

Lingappayya Kadu is near Karnadu industrial area where people are living in government sites. Some of them who have lost land during the construction of the Port are also residing in the region.

People have been demanding to rename Lingappayyakad as Karnadu Sadashiva Rao Nagara. Though the name is well known, it is yet to enter the documents of the government. Instead of Sadashiva Rao Nagara, it has been changed as Sadashiva Nagara.

In the address of the post office, government school, Mulky Town Panchayat office, revenue office, railway station, it is known as Sadashiva Nagara.  When Yuvaka Mandala in association with public staged a protest seven years ago in this regard, the Town Panchayat passed a resolution to change the name and has sent it to the government.

Speaking to Deccan Herald, Town Panchayat President B M Asif said “the decision to rename a place must be taken at the government level. I will discuss the matter with MLA. Even in Town Panchayat, we will discuss it and take a suitable action. It is our firm decision to rename it as K S Rao Nagara.” Even after 62 years of independence, neither the elected representatives nor the officials have responded to this issue.
