Last Updated 12 October 2011, 16:51 IST

Speaking to presspersons after flagging off Kannada Nuditheru Jagrutha jatha and receiving felicitation at his home town at Channakeshwara temple premises on Wednesday, he said following the opposition from various quarters, the proposal has been with held. Now, the Government will conduct a study on the same and then take a decision.

Pipeline

When asked about rising opposition to the proposed Kochi-Bangalore gas pipeline, he said “after looking at the need for the project, we have the responsibility to remove the hindrances. We will take people to confidence before implementing any project.”

No shortage of funds

He said there was no shortage of funds in the state exchequer. “We have plans to distribute title deeds to 50,000 beneficiaries at a time. In the next two years, all measures would be taken to supply power 24x7 to the citizens.”

He said the name of Minister Somanna’s son has figured in the illegal mining. However, his name has not been figured in the list. There is no point in leveling unnecessary allegations against him. “The opposition should not criticise development work. The Congress which is ruling at the Centre too has some responsibility. The opposition should awaken the State government, when it is on wrong path. However, here the opposition has not been discharging its duties effectively.”
